Article 5 - Ranking
The rankings of the Trophy are established from the number of points scored by participating in the events of the Trophy. It is necessary to be classified (finisher) in the official results of the events to score points.
The only reference for the calculation of the points will be the rank in the official classification of the events. Any complaint about the official result of an event must be addressed directly to the organizer of the corresponding event.
Ties will be broken by age, in favour of the oldest.
In order to avoid anomalies in the management of the rankings, competitors are advised to make sure that they fill in their full names and date of birth correctly when registering for the events..
Scratch classification:
The scratch ranking takes into account only the results on the longer course of each event with the following points:
- The first 150 of the longer course of the events score: 1st (150 points), 2nd (149 points), 3rd (148 points), ..., 149th (2 points), 150th (1 point).
- Only the 5 best results (number of points) are taken into account in the overall scratch ranking.
Classifications by categories that encourage participation:
To be fair, the points scored on an event are calculated by taking into account the ranking and the number of classifiers in each category. The goal is not to disadvantage an event with a large number of classifiers per category compared to another with fewer participants.
The point system described below allows each classifier in an event to score a minimum of 75 points including the event bonus.
All classified in an event score :
- A Bonus of 25 points per event in which they participated and are ranked.
- 1 event completed: 25 points
- 2 events completed: 50 points
- 3 events completed: 75 points
- 4 events completed: 100 points
- 5 events completed: 125 points
- ...
-
A bonus for the most difficult courses :
- Courses of more than 130km, or more than 2000m of ascent: 25 points
- Courses between 90km and 130km, or between 1000m and 2000m of ascent: 10 points
- Courses of less than 90km distance and less than 1000m of ascent: 0 points
- An Otakam Bonus of 100 points for all participants registered on the Otakam platform (free registration on www.otakam.fr). To benefit from this bonus in the final ranking, you must be registered on Otakam at the latest on the day of the last event of the Trophy.
-
Event points linked to their 5 best performances in their category over the whole Trophy at the end of the season :
- When there are more than 5 classified in the category, the points are attributed in a degressive way from the first (150 points) to the last (50 points) of the category taking into account the number of classified in the category*.
- When there are less than 5 classified in the category, the points are as follows: 1st (150 points), 2nd (125 points), 3rd (100), 4th (75 points), 5th (50 points).
This method of awarding points is designed to be fair so as not to favour an event with fewer participants in each category than another event (see example below). Points may include digits after the decimal point.
Example: With the same 10th place ranking, it is normal to score more points when there are more participants.
- 1st event with many participants: I finish 10th / 65 in my category, I score 136 points
- 2nd event with less participants : I finish 10th / 12 in my category, I score: 68 points
* Formula for calculating event points depending on the rank and the number of classified in each category
Article 6 – Rewards
For both men and women, the first three in the scratch classification and the first in each category in the final general classification will be rewarded. The three winners of the scratch rankings, men and women, will not be able to combine an award with their ranking in their age category. Thus, if a participant finishes in the top three in the scratch classification and also first in his or her category, he or she will be rewarded only once. In this case, the top-ranked cyclist in the category that is not in the top three in the scratch classification will also be rewarded.
The list of prizes will be posted on the event website www.otakam.fr/en/trophee-occitanie-ffc
The official proclamation of the results will take place after the last race of the Trophy counting for the classification.
Article 7 – Management of the Trophy
The management of the Trophy will be ensured on the Otakam platform (management of the web pages and the rankings). The presentation of the Trophy, the list of events, the prizes and the updated rankings after each event will be available on the web page: www.otakam.fr/en/trophee-occitanie-ffc
Even if it is not necessary, it is recommended to register (free of charge) on Otakam to be notified of a new result in your name and to correct any errors in your contact information via the "Manage my results" page on otakam.fr.
Any complaint concerning the Trophy rankings must be made before October 31 2024.
