A few words from the organizer

Born on 22 August 1950 in Neuillac, Michel Pitard, a friendly courier from the Charente, died on 6 May 2018, victim of a fatal illness while on a cycling trip. Passionate about competition and loving cycling above all else, he spent half his life on a bicycle.
His record of achievements:
He achieved many victories among amateurs and quickly moved up to the top category. He became a professional in 1972 and 1973 at GITANE-Frigécrème. In 1974, he goes back to the amateurs and obtains another great success such as the victory at the general of Essor Breton or those at the Grand Prix of Puy L’évêque, the Trois jours des Mauges or the Tour de Bigorre. We can’t tell Michel’s complete list of achievements, as it is so long, but we will also remember that he climbed on many podiums at the highest French level.
The club of his beginnings, the Vélo-Club Pontois which became the A.PO.GÉ CYCLIST Team U CUBE 17 organizes, every year in his memory, on the territory of Haute Saintonge the cyclosportive
« THE MICHEL PITARD IN HAUTE SAINTONGE ».
