A few words from the organizer

If you’ve never climbed it, you’ll need to fill the gap quickly… if you’ve already conquered it, it’ll still be just as intense: the Tourmalet and its « Giant » await you at its beautifully refurbished summit… still at an altitude of 2115m, the highest point of our race, as close as possible to the Pic du Midi de Bigorre. It’s a unique place steeped in cycling history: after all, it’s the pass that the Tour de France has climbed the most times since 1910 (including 60 times and 3 finishes since 1947).

In 2023, it will be courted by some of the biggest names in international cycling:

– passage of the Tour de France (Tarbes-Cauterets stage), just 3 days later,

– arrival of the 7th stage of the Tour de France for women on 29 July (Lannemezan-Tourmalet)

– Finally, the Tour of Spain, with a summit finish highly likely.

La Pyrénéenne 2023 offers this on every route. The most courageous will tackle the « Giant » twice: a real and unique challenge that will make you a well-informed spectator when the time comes for these aforementioned events.

The rest of the route will take you through some of the most beautiful, world-famous Pyrenean landscapes that are ideal for cycling: great tourist sites… and great cycling sites!

As far as the organisation is concerned, we’ll be following the same pattern, with, among other things :

– two timed courses, with options available on each during the event,

– a non-timed CycloRando course open to mountain bikes,

– the welcome, start and finish in the heart of the town of Bagnères-de-Bigorre, which will be animated for the occasion,

– the Vivre le Vélo au Féminin operation via the PyrénéE!!es,

– LIVE coverage of the race on the big screen near the finish line.

These are just some of the reasons why you’ll want to come out in force on 2 July 2023 to ride the same roads that will be making world cycling news in the Hautes-Pyrénées.

You’ll receive a warm welcome from all the teams of volunteers.
